Settings
The Settings section allows you to manage system preferences, schedules, and backups for your Smart Mirror.
⚙️ Note: Some options, such as Backup & Restore, are only available when using the built-in interface. If you selected a Custom URL during setup, these options will be hidden.
1. Changing the Dashboard Password
- Open the Settings menu in the top navigation bar.
- Click Reset Password.
- Enter a new password and confirm.
The new password replaces the default changeme password used during initial setup.
We recommend updating it immediately after installation for security reasons.
2. General Settings
In this section, you can adjust key system information:
- Device Name – the name that appears in your local network.
- Timezone – ensures correct local time display for modules and logs.
- Language & Keyboard – switch input and display languages if needed.
Changes are applied immediately after saving.
3. Backup & Restore
💡 Tip: Create a backup right after completing your first setup — it provides a reliable baseline you can restore anytime.
Create Backup
- Saves your current configurations, modules, and CSS files.
- Backups can be restored at any time through the same menu.
Restore Backup
- Reverts your mirror to a previous working state.
- Helpful if configuration errors or module issues occur.
Backups are stored locally on the device.
4. Schedule Settings
The Smart Mirror allows you to automate LED and screen behavior.
LED Schedule
- Define on/off times for the LED lights.
- The last used brightness level is automatically applied when turning on.
Screen Schedule
- Set display on/off times.
- Not recommended if you primarily control the mirror remotely, as the screen being off prevents interaction through the dashboard.
5. System Logs
The System Logs section records events such as startup messages and module actions. These logs are mainly for debugging purposes and can generally be ignored during normal operation.
6. Recommended Practices
-
Wi-Fi Stability: Occasional connection issues may occur after prolonged downtime. For best performance, we recommend keeping the Smart Mirror powered continuously.
-
Incorrect Date/Time after Power Loss: If the date or time is displayed incorrectly after unplugging the device, simply disconnect and reconnect the power again to trigger resynchronization.
-
General Tip: Most mirror functions are self-explanatory — if unexpected behavior occurs, try a quick Refresh first before restarting the device.
